Neeraj Chopra wins gold medal for India and makes history in Tokyo Olympics 2020

Today’s Olympics game was really interesting and also today’s day can be marked as the best day for India as for the first time, India wins a gold medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020. It is indeed a proud moment for India as after so many heartbreaking matches in this Olympics, India won a gold medal. Neeraj Chopra wins a gold medal in the men’s javelin final with an 87.58 m throw in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Indian javelin thrower began the round with an 87.03 meter throw which is the best of anyone after their first attempts. Next, Neeraj Chopra then improved his through and through 87.58 with the second through and maintained his place at the top. It was only in the third round when he went only 76.79 m. But in the end, he had done more than enough to get three additional attempts. In this rule of the javelin throw, after three attempts the top eight will get an additional 3 throws so that they can make their best attempts. Neeraj Chopra’s 4th and 5th atoms were considered as foul throws, and as a result, he finished with 84.24 m.

The most shocking part of this game was that the German world number 1 and the world champion Johannes Vetter lost to Neeraj and he only finished the ninth position. so he didn’t get the chance to get his three additional throws. It indeed surprised everyone and made all the Indians proud.

And with the success India’s Neeraj Chopra became the second individual Indian athlete to be crowned as Olympic champion as he won gold for India in men’s javelin throw in Tokyo Olympics today. he became the second individual Indian as the first was Abhinav Bindra. Also, he is the first Indian to win an athletics medal for India and second to win an individual medal.

Neeraj Chopra did his best and made a throw of 87.58 m and won a gold medal. Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic won the silver medal and Vitezslav Vesely won the bronze medal. 

All the people were really happy with this win and have lauded Neeraj for his hard work and bringing a gold medal for India. Today Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia also made India proud as he won a bronze medal in a 65 kg men’s freestyle wrestling Repechage match. With this Bajrang Punia and Neeraj Chopra have made a memorable day for India and also helped to increase the medal tally of India in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

This gold medal won by Neeraj is also India’s first Olympic medal in track and field events. Although India won 6 medals in London 2012, there was not a gold medal. So with this India has overall seven medals which are India’s best ever haul at a single Olympics.
