This is not only a central subject of the episode but also the series’ fundamental philosophy. Arnold and Ford saw the beauty in their work and attempted to save it. Because William couldn’t, he became determined to eliminate them. Charlotte is set to ruin civilization because she can only see the spectacle, whereas Dolores sacrificed herself for humanity’s future. After all, she could see the beauty in it.
