Day 7 of Tokyo Paralympics 2020 seemed to be very lucky for the Indian contingent as Singhraj Adhana was able to get the bronze medal for the country in the P1 men’s 10-meter air pistol SH1 event. Singhraj Adhana finished with a total of 216.8 points in the final round and won the bronze medal. Manish Narwal ended the match by finishing in the seventh position with a total of 135.8 points. This was India’s second medal from shooting at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics.
Before this, Avani Lekhara won the gold medal in the women’s 10m Air Rifle standing (SH1) event which was on Monday. Singhraj started brilliantly to go top of the rankings and Manish Narwal was only able to get a seventh spot finish in the game. However, Manish Narwal’s performance was amazing. All the audience was very much surprised by his skills earlier in the excellent show to top the P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 qualification round. Because of his amazing performance in the qualification round, Manish Narwal was able to enter into the final round.
Singhraj Adhana also qualified for the medal round after finishing the sixth spot in the game. Another Indian player Deepender Singh was the third Indian in the fray. Deepender Singh was not able to go forward after getting to the tenth spot. Also earlier in the games of Paralympics 2020, Indian contingents impressed many worldwide fans of Paralympics, and especially in the women’s shot put final, Bhagyashri Jadhav finished at the seventh spot by giving her own personal best of 7.
Also in the Paralympic 2020 games, Rubina Francis made her debut in the shooter games. Rubina Francis went on to finish at the seventh spot in P2 Women’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 final. Archer Rakesh Kumar couldn’t go far after finishing the quarter-final of men’s individual archery event. This contest was really nail-biting and many fans just got stuck on their seats to see the match. Well, India did not get any medal from the game of table tennis as well. Indian players had to face defeat in the Paralympic games of table tennis this time.
The pair of Bhavina and Sonal lost the game while competing against their Chinese opponents with a score of 3-0 in the women’s team quarter-final. Also India player Simran Sharma couldn’t get qualified and go further in the women’s 100m – T13- Round 1 – Heat 2. However, the show will be considered as one of the best shows that we Indian audience got to see in the entire season.
