Vera Mindy Chokalingam, better known by her stage name Mindy Kaling, was born on June 24, 1979, in India.
The Mindy Project, a Fox comedy series that Kaling created, produced, and starred in, helped her earn more recognition (2012–2017).
In addition to writing, executive producing, and directing the sitcom “The Office,” Kaling initially rose to fame playing Kelly Kapoor.
Kaling relocated to New York after graduating college and worked as a production assistant there. She began performing stand-up during this time and used the stage name “Kaling.”
She was employed as a writer when “The Office,” an adaptation of the British sitcom. Kaling remained with the programme through its ninth season
Mindy Kaling was included in Time magazine’s 2012 list of the “100 Most Influential People.” In 2014, Glamour magazine selected her as one of its “Women of the Year.”
