Andor Release date, schedule, cast, trailer..

The future television show Andor is being created by Lucasfilm. It will air on Disney+, their internet streaming service. Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the spy thriller series.

The Andor series will examine the Star Wars universe from a fresh angle, concentrating on Cassian Andor’s quest to understand the impact he can make. In this period of peril, deceit, and intrigue, Cassian will start down the path that would eventually make him a rebel hero.

Production and Casting

Before the 2016 Star Wars Anthology film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released, discussions for a television series centered on Cassian Jeron Andor, played by Diego Luna, began, despite Luna’s skepticism that it would materialize. For Disney’s streaming service, “a couple” live-action Star Wars programs were in the works, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger in February 2018. On November 8, 2018, Iger made the series’ formal announcement during a Disney quarterly earnings conference.

On November 30, it was stated that Moana writer Jared Bush had created the project by penning a pilot screenplay and a series bible, while The Americans executive producer Stephen Schiff had been chosen to serve as showrunner. Production on the series was supposed to start in October 2019, according to Production Weekly. On July 11, 2019, it was stated that Rick Famuyiwa was in negotiations to helm an unspecified number of the show’s episodes, with production set to start on October 7. Tony Gilroy, who also co-wrote Rogue One, was revealed by Variety to be scripting the series pilot and helming many episodes on October 15, 2019.

Filming of Andor

In 2020, the original series logo was unveiled. Diego Luna announced the start of the series’ London filming on December 3, 2020. At a Disney investors conference on December 10, 2020, the series title and some behind-the-scenes videos of its production were revealed. In late November 2020, production got underway. Although Alan Tudyk was the first cast as K-2SO in the show, he later made it clear in January 2021 that he would not be appearing in the first season while filming was still taking place. However, he did anticipate being included in the group in the following seasons. The showrunners chose realistic settings, and sequences were filmed both on-site and at Pinewood Studios. Pitlochry, Scotland, was the location for one scene. The last scene was shot in September 2021.

At the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 on May 26, 2022, Lucasfilm unveiled a teaser video for the Andor series. The production company also disclosed that the show’s Disney+ debut date will be August 31, 2022. The official trailer and new release date, September 21, 2022, were both made public by Lucasfilm on August 1.

The release date for Andor

On September 21, 2022, at 8 a.m. BST, Disney Plus will debut the first episode of Andor.

Andor’s debut, which had been planned for August 31st, has been delayed. Following immediately on Disney Plus is the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Filming for the series lasted from November 2020 until September 2021. Be delayed till September 21, 2022.

Andor Cast

Diego Luna is back in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as Cassian Andor, a “charismatic Rebel leader” who played a key part in the plot to steal the Death Star designs.

Skarsgard is best known for his roles in the Chernobyl and Marvel’s Thor films (as Dr. Erik Selvig), but in this scene, he seems to be playing Luther, a revolutionary who recruits Andor to the Rebel Alliance’s fight against the Galactic Empire. Luther also seems to be acquainted with Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma.

In the meanwhile, Soller and Gough are portraying two officers in the Imperial Amry. Soller is well known for his role as Francis in the BBC period drama Poldark, and Gough was in the 2021 drama Too Close on ITV.

While Gough plays the more senior Dedra Meero, Soller plays Sergeant Linus Mosk.
