The residential building was located in Delhi’s Malka Ganj area on Monday afternoon. This incident left many people nearby afraid and stopped because of the accident of a 4 storey building collapsing. Mini rescue teams rushed to the spot so that they can help people who have been trapped in the area of Sabzi mandi.
According to the resources, many families were inside the building including children when the building collapsed suddenly. However, the exact number of people who are trapped under the debris is not known yet clearly. Also, many auto rickshaws were parked beside the buildings which have been severely damaged due to the collapse of the 4 storey building. The officials in the area have released a massive rescue operation. Also, a huge relief operation has been launched by them.
Several people are severely shocked due to the incident and are trapped under the debris of the building. All the local police and the district administration officials have reached out to the site where this incident has taken place. According to the information given by the police on site, the construction work was underway in the building. As the work was going on, many labourers were inside the building when it collapsed suddenly.
The director of Delhi fire services, Atul Garg spoke to India TV saying that the eight fire tenders rushed to the mishap site. All the officials are facing difficulty in transporting all the heavy machinery due to the narrow lanes. Also, two kids are trapped under the debris currently. All the rescue operations for the people who are trapped are being carried out manually by the teams. As per the information which is given by officials and the teams which have reached the site where this accident took place only one person trapped under the debris was able to be rescued. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A senior police officer also stated that the rescue operations were still underway and the team is still working on the area. No death cases have been reported yet and the exact count of people who were injured due to the incident was also not known by the officials. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall and consequent waterlogging have also been an issue in Delhi and have disturbed the normal everyday life of people living in many areas which are facing the problems of waterlogging.
Due to heavy rains in the national capital, several routes and roads were either partially or completely waterlogged causing disruption in traffic movement.
Several places in Delhi were submerged due to continuous heavy rainfall. Waterlogging was also witnessed near areas like RK Puram, Moti Bagh, India Gate, Delhi Airport, Minto Bridge, ITO, Dwarka, Palam, and Madhu Vihar in Delhi.
