Phillies Erase Astros’ Most Obvious World Series Advantage

After its lesser-known pitchers blanked Houston in Game 3, Philadelphia has seized control of the World Series.

If there was going to be a clear mismatch going into this World Series, it was the pitching staffs.

To go along with their league-best 134 team ERA+, the Astros also had one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.

In order to win Game 3, the Phillies reversed that pattern.

Both parties came out swinging and never let up on the aggression.

No. 3 starter Ranger Suárez threw five innings in which they did not allow a run.

The remaining bullpen relievers were then brought in. Every single one of the Phillies' high-leverage pitchers sat on the bench.
