In the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu swore in Justice Chandrachud.

After Chief Justice Chandrachud swore in, he went straight to his mother's feet to kiss them.

The term of the newly appointed Chief Justice will last until November 10, 2024. 

On Monday, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit retired, and he was sworn in to fill his seat.
