Prepare your spades and buckets as Dreamland on Sky Comedy transports us to the beach town of Margate in the United Kingdom. The six-part series, which is also produced by Sharon Horgan and is based on her BAFTA-winning short film of the same name, examines the dynamics of a multigenerational family that is frequently chaotic. It is a darkly humorous investigation of multi-generational female relationships and their (slightly problematic) family dynamics, and it is set in the sun-drenched British beach resort of Margate.
The eldest sister, Trish, is expecting her third child with her boyfriend, Spence. She’s decided that it will be a girl this time. The cast of Dreamland
In Dreamland, Freema portrays Trish, the pregnant older sister. She gained fame for her 2005–2007 performance as Martha Jones in Doctor Who. Along with those projects, she has appeared in Torchwood, Little Dorrit, Survivors, Law & Order: UK, The Matrix Resurrections, Sense8, and New Amsterdam. Aimee Ffion Edwards, who starred in Peaky Blinders, plays Trish’s sister Leila in Dreamland, while actress Gabby Best, who starred in Cheap Cheap Cheap, plays Clare. Their mother is the legendary actress Frances Barber (Whitstable Pearl, Silk, Doctor Who), and their grandmother is Sheila Reid, star of Benidorm. In her first television appearance, singer Lily Allen plays the fourth sibling Mel, while Ghosts actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe plays Spence, Trish’s boyfriend. Samantha Bond from Downton Abbey will be Orla’s guest star. The comedy Dreamland was recorded in Margate, Kent, a popular coastal resort in the United Kingdom that is home to the eponymous Dreamland theme park.

The plot of Dreamland
Dreamland is ready in Margate and centers on the eldest sister Trish, who is desperate for a daughter and is expecting her third child. Freema Agyeman portrays Trish. Clare (Gabby Best) and Leila (Aimee-Ffion Edwards), two of her sisters, help their mother, Frances Barber, and their “legendary” granny Sheila Reid “manifest” a young child, but then their other sister Mel (Lily Allen) unexpectedly reemerges in their lives. Their “dreamland” has abruptly vanished, and Mel’s return could cause the family to become unstable.
