Arvind Trivedi, the actor who played the role of Ravan in Ramayan, dies at 82

Former MP and actor Arvind Trivedi dies at the age of 82 due to a heart attack. He passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday, October 5, late at night. The 82-year-old veteran actor was unwell for some time before his death. Arvind Trivedi became a very famous and household name as he played the role of Ravan in Ramayan, Ramanand Sagar’s greatest mythological series. He made a great acting career as he acted in about 300 Gujarati and Hindi movies. He also served as an MP for the period of 5 years, i.e., from 1991 to 1996. 

As per some ABP reports, it is said that the actor was unwell for some time and the late actor was even unable to walk properly. As per their reports, Kaustubh Trivedi, nephew of Arvind Trivedi said, “He had come back from the hospital only last month. On Tuesday night, he suffered a heart attack around 9:30. He died at his Kandivali residence in Mumbai.” Kaustubh also gave details about Arvind Trivedi’s last rites, which were performed on Wednesday, October 6, around 8 AM in Mumbai. 

Celebrities Condole Arvind Trivedi’s death:

Celebrities who shared screens with Arvind Trivedi took to social media so that they can condole his death. Sunil Lahiri, who played the role of Laxman on the show Ramayan, shared some pictures of the late actor and captioned, “Bahut dukhad Samachar hai ki Hamare Sabke Pyare Arvind bhai (Ravan of Ramayan) Ab Hamare bich Nahin Rahe Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De…I am speechless I lost my father figure, my guide, well wisher & gentleman .”

Arvind Trivedi had also been a victim of many death rumors earlier, and in May this year, when the rumors of the death of the late actor were spreading like a fire on the internet, Sunil rubbished all the death rumors by requesting not to spread fake news. 

Dipika Chikhlia, who played the great role of Sita in Ramayan, also took to Instagram and wrote an emotional note. She wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to his family a very fine human being #arvindtrivedi #ravan .” 

The filmmaker and president of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association, Ashoke Pandit, took to Twitter and tweeted, “Sad to know about the demise of well-known theatre, tv & film actor #ArvindTrivedi Ji due to massive heart attack. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family & dear ones! “

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Arvind Trivedi on Wednesday, October 6th, as he took to Twitter.

Some information about Arvind Trivedi:

Arvind Trivedi was born on November 8, 1938, in Ujjain, located in Madhya Pradesh. He made a debut in his acting career with Gujarati theatre. In addition to the role of Ravan he played in Ramayan, he was also well known for the key role he played in the cult TV show Vikram Aur Betaal. Upendra Trivedi, The actor’s brother was also a well-known actor in Gujarati cinema. Arvind Trivedi got a lot of recognition among Gujarati audiences as he played many roles in religious and social films, where he made a contribution for 40 years. Talking about the awards, he won seven awards for his acting in Gujarati films, and in addition to this, he was also awarded by the Government of Gujarat. He was then chosen as the working chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), in 2002. Arvind Trivedi served as CBFC chief for around 1 year, i.e., from July 20, 2002, to October 16, 2003. And then in 1991, the late actor was chosen as a Member of the Parliament from the Sabarkantha constituency. He was also chosen as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and he also held the position till 1996.
