IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATED TO ‘CREED 3’ FOR YOU

The long-dormant Rocky franchise was given new life in 2015 with the release of Creed. Fans of the 1977 Best Picture winner and its many sequels were dubious when it was revealed that Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa would hand the reigns over to a newer, younger boxing champion. Ultimately, Creed proved those worries to be unjustified as it not only lived up to the franchise’s heritage but may perhaps surpass it.
Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the new hero of the franchise and the son of Rocky’s former rival and close friend, Apollo Creed, Creed is an absolutely brilliant reboot that meaningfully expands on previous characters. It also introduces a new iconic name to the franchise (Carl Weathers).
In the first Creed movie, which was directed by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), Adonis abandoned a good career to follow his love of professional boxing, but he didn’t want to do it in his father’s shadow. He goes in search of Rocky Balboa, who trains Adonis to become not just a powerful fighter but also a better person.
Steven Caple Jr.’s (The Land) Creed II established that the previous movie wasn’t an aberration by creating a fascinating story about Adonis becoming a spouse and parent and reintroducing Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) and his son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) as well-developed adversaries.
The Rocky saga appeared to have come to an end with Creed II since Sylvester Stallone announced his retirement from the character of Rocky Balboa. But soon after Creed II hit theatres, a third movie’s production was revealed. Michael B. Jordan will not only reprise his role as the title character and produce the movie this time, but he will also serve as the film’s first director.
Creed III (2023) is looking to be a worthy finish to the trilogy with Ryan Coogler still working on it as an executive producer and Jordan prepared to show the world what he can do behind the camera. Here is what we currently know about the next installment of Adonis’s story before Creed III releases next year.

WHEN WILL IT RELEASE ?

Originally slated for release in November 2022, Creed III will now arrive on March 3, 2023, as opposed to the previously planned November 2022 release date. Creed III is anticipated to debut in theatres, just like the previous two movies. Given that MGM, the owner of the Rocky property, was recently purchased by Prime Video for a reported multi-billion dollar sum, it seems to be the most likely option for Creed III’s streaming home.

STORYLINE

When we last saw Adonis, he had just defeated Viktor Drago, putting an end to their long-standing feud since Apollo Creed, Adonis’ own father, was murdered in Rocky IV by Viktor’s father, Ivan Drago (1985). Practically every character experiences a happy ending. Rocky is able to make peace with his estranged family, Adonis comes to terms with his family’s past, and even Ivan and Viktor decide to put their small-minded rivalry aside in favor of forging a healthy father-son bond.
The focus of the upcoming installment in the series will probably be on Adonis’ continued development as a better father to his daughter and his refusal to follow other parental figures in this series who lost touch with their own children.

WHOM CAN YOU SEE IN CREED III ?

Michael B. Jordan will once again portray Adonis Creed’s lead role in addition to directing the film. This will be the first time that Sylvester Stallone, who plays Rocky Balboa, won’t be there. Instead, Tessa Thompson (Thor: Love and Thunder), who plays Bianca Creed, and Phylicia Rashad (Soul), who plays his mother Mary Anne Creed, will be there.
The two key boxers from Adonis’ fights in the first two movies are also back, and they’re both real-life boxing competitors. These include Viktor Drago from the second movie, played by Florian Munteanu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and “Pretty” Ricky Conlan from the first movie, played by Tony “Bomber” Bellew (Creed).
This could be interpreted as an indication that Jonathan Majors’ portrayal of Damien Anderson in Creed represents a fresh challenge for the actor. The movie will also feature several well-known real-life boxing personalities, such as renowned cutman Jacob “Stitch” Duran, who makes a return after appearing in the first two installments, and boxing world champion Canelo lvarez, who will be making his acting debut as Saul. Thaddeus J. Mixson, Spence Moore II, and Selanis Leyva (all of Spider-Man: Homecoming fame), round out the cast (South of Heaven). J. Thaddeus Mixson (South of Heaven)
