Few expected Magic Mike would become the critical success it did and launch a franchise when it was released in 2012, but that is exactly what occurred. With Magic Mike’s Last Dance, one of the major early new movies of 2023, the trilogy’s conclusion, the unexpected hit appears to be coming to an end.
Of course, a Magic Mike movie wouldn’t be complete without Channing Tatum reprising the lead role, but the film also features the return of the original director Steven Soderbergh to help wrap up the plot.
RELEASE DATE & PLATFORM TO WATCH AT
Magic with a February 10 release date that is restricted to movie theatres in the US, UK, and the majority of the rest of the world, Mike’s Last Dance is one of the first major films of 2023.
In his professional life, Channing Tatum has experienced considerable success with February releases. He co-starred in the 2010 film Dear John with Amanda Seyfried, which ended Avatar’s reign as the top weekly box office film. In February 2022, his film Dog debuted at No. 2 in the US box office (beating Tom Holland’s high-budget Uncharted).

MOVIE PLOT
As you can see from the video up top, Magic Mike’s Last Dance will see the gifted dancer make one last attempt at glory in London while also developing a relationship with the show’s producer. Here is the official storyline summary, though, for additional information:
After a failed business venture that left him broke and forced him to work as a bartender in Florida, “Magic” Mike Lane returns to the stage after a protracted absence. With the intention of having one final hurrah, Mike travels to London with a wealthy socialite who entices him with an alluring offer. As well as her own agenda.
Will Mike be able to pull it off with everything on the line once he realises what she really has in mind—and the group of hot new dancers he’ll have to get in shape for it—along with the other hot new dancers?
The screenplay for Magic Mike’s Last Dance is once again credited to Reid Carolin, who also penned the first two Magic Mike feature films.
The film concludes with a 30-minute dance interlude, according to a Steven Soderbergh interview with Empire (opens in new tab).
