48,500-year-old Frozen Zombie Virus Revived In A Lake Of Russia
French researchers have unearthed a zombie virus from Russia's frozen lake that dates back 48,500 years.
Scientists have long warned that the release of greenhouse gases
like methane from melting permafrost caused by atmospheric warming will worsen the climate change scenario.
Iced viruses are the zombie viruses. Because of the extremely low t
emperature, they effectively hibernate in the deep freeze.
The virus C, which has been dormant for years due to being trapped in the ice, awakens
as the ice melts and temperatures rise.
The virus was discovered by researchers from the French National Centre for Scien
tific Research
it is 48,500 years old and could infect other animals and humans if it were to be released from its icy tomb in Russia.
