Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhopal next week. As Madhya Pradesh celebrates its tribal warriors, PM Modi has decided to pay a visit to the place. The preparations there are going strong in order to welcome the Prime Minister. According to some reports, it is known that the Prime Minister will be in the state’s capital city for four hours. He will be on the stage for 1 hour and 15 minutes, for which five domes are being built. The most surprising part is that the state is preparing for the welcoming of the PM on a large scale as the state government is spending more than ₹ 23 crore for the event! Out of ₹23 crores, ₹ 13 crore will be spent only for transportation of the people to the programme which is to be held at Jamboree Maidan.
In the memory of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on November 15, Madhya Pradesh will celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering, and including in this, he will also dedicate the nation’s first public private partnership-built Habibganj railway station at Jamboori Maidan in the city. The Union cabinet had also decided that week-long programmes will be organised nationally from November 15 to 22 as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, in order to commemorate the contributions and hardwork of Birsa Munda as well as other tribal freedom fighters.
The amazing venue of the Jamboree Maidan can be expected to be filled with two lakh tribals from across Madhya Pradesh. In addition to this, the entire venue is being decorated beautifully with tribal art and pictures of tribal legends. To finish this giant amount of decor work, More than 300 workers have been engaged, and it’s already been a week, the world has started. For the tribals, big and amazing pandals have also been built. For transportation, food and lodging of people coming from 52 districts, it is costing over ₹12 crore. The five domes, tents, other decoration and publicity costs more than ₹9 crores.
47 seats have been reserved for Scheduled Tribes in the state. The BJP won 29 seats in 2008; increased by 31 in 2013, but in 2018 out of 47, BJP got only 16 seats. According to the National Crime Record Bureau or NCRB data, Madhya Pradesh has reported the highest number of cases of atrocities against Scheduled Tribes at 2,401. In 2019, this figure was reduced to only 1,922, while in 2018 it was at 1,868. In the period of two years, the state has shown a jump of 28 per cent in atrocities which are against tribal people.
The Habibganj railway station has been developed under a PPP at a budget of around ₹ 450 crore, and the station is on the same lines as Germany’s Heidelberg railway station. In July 2016, the revamp of the station was launched and work took off in 2017 with a three-year deadline. The modern railway station will have several amazing features such as segregation of passengers based on arrivals and departures, comfortable sitting arrangement at platforms, lounges, concourse and also dormitories and resting rooms.
The railway station will also show glimpses of world heritage sites such as the Sanchi Stupa, Bhojpur temple, Bhimbetka, Birla Mandir, Tawa Dam and the Tribal Museum. Md. Abu Asif, the project manager, said It is the first project of Indian Railways built on PPP mode and there will be a food zone, kids’ zone, entertainment zone and retail zone in the station.
Although leaders of the BJP which also includes Bhopal MP Pragya Singh Thakur have made a demand to rename Habibganj railway station after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, according to some reports, it is said that the state government has recommended the name of Gond ruler Rani Kamalapati to the centre.
