Read which company grabs India’s largest solar and battery project!

Tata Power made an announcement that it has recently been awarded a big project. Ever since the news was available online, it started to spread on several social media platforms like a wildfire and has been hitting the headlines ever since it was available on the internet. The big project was awarded to Tata Power by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). This has been done in order to build a 100 MW EPC solar project. Talking about it, in addition to this, they have also planned to build a 120 MWh utility scale Battery Energy Storage System. Talking about the value, well, the total contract value of the project is a huge amount, which ranges approximately ₹945 crore. Ever since the news was out online and available on several social media platforms the team of Tata has been providing us with many reports regarding their upcoming further  steps. According to some reports of the Tata subsidiary, and the statement they said on Wednesday , it is known that the huge project will be completed within 18 months. 

After the contract was signed, the utility scale EPC order book of Tata Power Solar currently stands at around 4.4 GW (DC) capacity. The Tata Power Solar also has an approximate value of ₹9,000 crore without GST.

For those who may not know, the project sites of SECI are located in Chhattisgarh, according to the statement given by Tata Power. In addition to this, they also state that the order scope will include engineering, design, supply, construction, erection, testing, O&M and commissioning of the projects.

The group has now stated that they would be working much more harder in continuing the process and have also given us a glimpse of all theIr further steps that will be known to us soon. The company stated that they have strengthened the diversified offerings with BESS, which is the Battery Energy Storage System. “Tata Power’s vision has always been to look forward to the adoption of new technologies with innovation.With this win, the Company has strengthened its diversified offerings with BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) within the renewable segment,” the company stated.

Surely, this achievement by the TATA group is not a very small thing and as many social media users have now come to know about it they have been congratulating them and wishing them good luck. The CEO and MD of Tata Powerfurther said that they are glad to get such a prestigious opportunity from SECI, stating and expressing how much they are excited and happy about the news. The CEO also further added about them working to build the nation’s solar EPC project with BESS. “We are glad to receive this prestigious order from SECI to build Solar EPC projects along with India’s largest utility scale BESS project. This is the second grid-scale solar plant with BESS and is recognition of Tata Power Solar’s pioneering work in project execution capabilities in the solar energy domain,” said Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power.

The large projects executed by Tata Power Solar previously included 80 MW NTPC Jetsar, 50 MW Kasargod at Kerala, 100 MW GIPCL Raghanesda, 100 MW TPREL Raghanesda, 30 MW GSECL, and another innovative Solar project of 50 MW with BESS of 50 MWh battery storage is under execution at Leh, the company added. Indeed it is a huge step taken by the group of Tata and the news as soon as it was available online has become a huge topic of the town now.
