Betty White’s 100th birthday will be celebrated in cinemas.

The TV legend, activist, comedian and actress Betty White has had one of the longest careers in television history, as she transforms into a national treasure over the decades. As Betty White is turning 100 in January, the beloved star is inviting her fans in order to celebrate. The celebrations will be a one-day movie event which features her best TV moments and more. 

“Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration” will be played in nearly 900 movie theaters on Jan. 17, 2022, which is the day of White’s centenary, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m local time. 

The film, which will run for 1 hour and 40 minutes. This film offers a “revealing glimpse” into the actress’ life, which will include behind-the-scenes on set, working with her office staff, entertaining at home and even scenes from her actual birthday party. This video will feature clips from some of her most famous roles, which includes “The Golden Girls,” hosting “Saturday Night Live,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and also a lost episode from White’s early sitcom in the 1950s.

Fathom Events, which is distributing the film, informed about the special guests including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendy Malick and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The synopsis reads, “Betty White invites you to her 100th birthday celebration event. The party for America’s sweetheart includes her star-studded cast of friends including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendy Malick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. You’ll experience Betty’s funniest moments on The Golden Girls, hosting SNL, Hot in Cleveland, The Proposal, The Mary Tyler Moore Show—and a lost episode from Betty’s very first sitcom. Plus Betty reveals inside stories of her amazing life and career.”

“Who doesn’t love a party?!? This one is gonna be great,” White said in a statement.

Betty White, with a career span of more than 75 years, has a legacy which is actually much deeper than some may realize. White is known as the first woman to produce a sitcom and also one of the first women to take control both in front of and behind the camera, according to some of the reports of Television Academy.

She’s received eight Emmy Awards in many categories, five Primetime and three Daytime, and as well as three American Comedy Awards. She has also won three Screen Actors Guild awards, and also a Grammy. White was then inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1985. Later, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1988.

Earlier this year, White was honoured with the title of the 2021 “Woman of the Year” by California state legislators.

“We didn’t want this day to pass without bringing together all the people that love her, from her co-stars and friends to her many millions of fans of all ages, to celebrate her 100th birthday with an entertaining and loving look at what makes Betty a national treasure,” Steve Boettcher, the film’s producer and director, said in a statement.

It wasn’t so long ago when fans enjoyed Betty White on the big screen, as back in September, The Golden Girls screened in theaters for the first time ever through Fathom Events. During the celebration, the classic sitcom screened some of the most famous episodes. Known for the role of Rose on The Golden Girls is, of course, one of White’s most popular roles.

On the other hand, tickets are now available for the film on Fathom Events’ website. If you check the Fanthim Event’s website, you will also find a list of participating locations by zip code. The news was reported by Cincinnati.
