Well, who can resist the video which shows a flock of flamingos? Yes, a huge flock of flamingos was spotted in Tamilnadu as the migratory birds have now decided to make their grand entrance in the state!
The beautiful birds were. seen wading through a shallow water body and are currently winning millions of hearts online on the internet. These migratory birds were spotted at Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary which is located in Tamil Nadu’s Kodiakarai. Well, in the now going viral video, you can spot the flock of the beautiful migratory birds that can be seen moving one after the other in a line.
The birds are seen wandering in a picturesque environment and talking about their movement, it itself is a visual treat. Also, the breathtaking landscape also seems to be windy, as spotted in the video clip. Supriya Sahu, Principal Secretary Environment Climate Change and Forests of Tamil Nadu vah seen sharing this viral video on her official Twitter account. “Point Calimere ( Kodiakarai ) Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu is abuzz with thousands of migratory birds #TNForest,” the IAS officer stated as the caption of the video.
The clip was shared back on December 25 and now has got over 8,000 views. All the social media users who came across the beautiful video went ‘wow’ over the clip and many also stated that it was amazing to watch the video. “Flemingo’s…Nature has no boundaries ..” commented a social media user in the comment section of the post. Four flamingo species are found throughout American continents and two species are native to Africa, Asia, and Europe.
These birds are highly social birds and they live in colonies of about thousands and as per the reports, there was decline in migratory birds arriving at Point Calimere Wildlife. Also they appeared at the Bird Sanctuary and the lagoons in the sanctuary are a key attraction for migratory birds. All the Avian species, including blue jay, egret, myna, drongo, brahmini kite, curlew, brown-headed gull, flamingo, teal, black-tailed godwit, whiskered tern, blue-tailed bee-eater, red shank, little stint and painted stork are spotted in the sanctuary.
It is in a 20 square kilometer area of dry evergreen forests and this sanctuary is home to black bucks, antelopes, chitals, feral horses, wild boars and about 250 species of different birds. It was back in 1967 when the forest area was declared as a wildlife sanctuary, and ever since it has become a favorite spot for many nature and wildlife lovers.
