Season 2 of the Quicksand TV series has everything you need to know.

Just when we thought we couldn’t get enough of crime dramas, Netflix adds another to our must-see list. ‘Quicksand,’ a Swedish thriller, is the subject this time. From beginning to end, this fast-paced series, which debuted on Netflix on April 5, 2019, is a fascinating watch.

The film is based on Malin Persson Giolito’s 2016 novel of the same name. The 2016 Best Swedish Crime Novel Award and the 2017 Glass Key Award were both given to this best-selling novel. “Golito gives us the unnerving monologue of an adolescent girl as she makes her way through her role in murder,” according to Kirkus Reviews. It’s a fantastic piece of writing.”

The show’s writer is Camilla Ahlgren, and the directors are Per-Olav Srensen and Lisa Farzaneh. The executive producers are Pontus Edgren and Martina Hkansson, with producers Fatima Varhos and Frida Asp.

Quicksand Cast

The cast of ‘Quicksand’ includes some of Sweden’s finest and most talented actors and actresses.
Maja, played by Hannah Ardéhn, is the main character. If you’re a fan of Scandinavian television, you’ve probably seen Ardéhn in shows like ‘Nio med JO,’ ‘Dubbelliv,’ ’30 Degrees in February,’ and the short film ‘Lidingöligan,’ which won the Short Story Film Award.

In the role of Sebastian, Felix Sandman plays the part. He is a Swedish singer, composer, and actor who is best known for his role in the film ‘We Are The Best.’ William Spetz, David Dencik, Reuben Sallmander, Anna Björk, Christopher Wollter, Evin Ahmad, Maria Sundbom, Rebecka Hemse, Helena af Sandberg, Shanti Roney, and Ella Rappich are among the other actors who have appeared in many episodes.

What is the plot of the Quicksand Plot?

At a prep school in one of Stockholm’s wealthiest areas, a mass shooting has occurred. Maja Norberg, a youthful 18-year-old girl, appears calm, cool, and anything but a murderess. Despite this, she is dragged into the middle of the commotion and charged with her boyfriend’s and best friend’s murder. She is imprisoned for nine months after her arrest, awaiting trial. As the trial progresses, the most pressing question is whether she is to blame. How did this well-liked, wealthy A-grade kid end up as the main suspect in a heinous crime?

When the show starts, we’re transported back to Maja’s past through flashbacks, where we see her relationship with a guy from a dysfunctional family who also has a dark secret of his own. Even her friends wonder what she sees in him, yet she refuses to leave his side. Perhaps these unusual insights are some of the reasons for whatever happened during the shooting that prompted Maja to commit this atrocity. In a word, ‘Quicksand’ features a mix of dirty facts, deception, and dark backgrounds, with a conclusion that we certainly did not expect.

The plot has also been likened to ‘The Sinner’ by certain viewers. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know that while on vacation with her family at the beach, a good, sweet, and simple mother murders a man. However, many difficult aspects of the mystery emerge as the plot unfolds. Finally, her trial comes to a satisfactory conclusion. Quicksand has a plot that is comparable to ‘Elite’ in that it revolves around a high-school tragedy. So, if you’re a fan of both of these series, this is still another title to anticipate.

When will the second season of Quicksand premiere?

Part 2 of Quicksand has yet to be revealed, but given Netflix’s burgeoning tv drama programming calendar and the positive response to the comedy, it’s likely to be accessible by mid-2022. By 2022 or 2023, the sitcom might be back on the air.
