The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will be the eighth edition of the competition, and it will be held in Australia in from 16th October to 13thNovember 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled for 2020, however the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced in July 2020 that it had been postponed owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. The ICC also stated in August 2020 that Australia will host the revised event in 2022, with the T20 World Cup initially set to take place in India in 2021, but was redirected towards the UAE and Oman. The ICC confirmed all of the tournament’s matches on January 21, 2022. Australia, the hosts, are also the reigning champions.

The ICC announced the locations for the matches. Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney are the host cities. The semi-finals and final would be held at Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval, respectively, with the final at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Players to Watch
Adam Zampa – There is no doubt that Australia has one of the best pace attacks but its Zampa’s spin that will give them the edge in the middle over’s.
Glenn Maxwell – Australia has the destructive opener(David Warner) and certainly the best duo of Stark and Cummins but Maxwell is something that can be as dangerous as Warner and Stark.

Rohit Sharma – The newly appointed captain in all 3 formats of the game will open the innings for India. He is one of the best openers in current time of cricket and leading run scorer in T20 International.
Jasprit Bumrah – India’s best death over’s bowler who doesn’t flinch under pressure. He is known to maintain his line and length and has the ability to take wickets at crucial times.

Jofra Archer – His fitness will be a big issue for them as he is the fastest bowler in England squad. He earned his reputation by performing and winning the 2019 World Cup.

Bangladesh was one of the greatest disappointments of the 2021 tournament, losing by six wickets to Scotland in their opening game and hardly bouncing back. The Tigers did make it to the Super 12 stage, but they lost all five of their games, and all of them by a large margin, to finish last of the six teams.

Shakib Al Hasan – Bangladesh’s fate is still in the hands of the seasoned all-rounder, who is one of the ICC’s top-ranked players.
Mustafizur Rahman – Rahman’s prowess with the ball has earned him a position in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year for 2021, and Bangladesh will need him to be exceptional once more.

New Zealand is the finalists in the last edition of this tournament. This side doesn’t have many star players but have the most reliable players. They have won the Test Championship by beating India at Lords. This side has the ability to lift the title but need to work on performing under pressure.

Kane Williamson – He has outstanding captaincy skills and can adapt to any situation and plays according to it. His 85 runs innings in just 48 balls in the Finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup puts New Zealand in the winning zone but unfortunately couldn’t defend it.
Trent Boult – This man is best in his department. He can bowl in any situation of the game and holds the ability to take wickets at crucial times.

They were eliminated from the competition at the Super 12 stage after a devastating loss to New Zealand in their final game.
