As he lost the men’s restart 65 kg semi-final to none other than 3rd-time world champion Haji Aliev on Friday, he is now all ready to fight for the bronze medal and to win it for the country in his upcoming match for which many of his fans are eagerly waiting too. In the first period they were going on with 1-4 and Bajrang looked for a big attack but his opponent was smart enough to defend and by placing his shoulder close to the thighs of Bajrang he threw the Indian wrestler for a huge 8-1 lead in the first round itself.

Throughout the next round Bajrang kept on desperately attacking Aliev but his defensive moves kept helping him. The Azerbaijan player was losing steam and the Indian wrestler got two takedowns down to reduce the deficit in the match. Bajrang Punia just required one single huge move over his opponent and he would have won the medal by now.

There were only 30 seconds left in the bout and the Indian wrestler kept trying his best for his points over his opponent but Aliev did not let him do so and he grabbed him in a very strong body lock which did not leave the Indian wrestler to do many moves. In the end, the Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia was out and left hopeless and helpless as he fell on the mat aware of the fact that he couldn’t do anything more to win over the superior wrestler and that he had lost the match and the medal too. However, all of his fans from India kept tweeting and encouraging him, and also many of them are eagerly waiting for the wrestler’s next match. He will be fighting for the bronze medal and if he manages to win the bronze for the country then India also will come up with this best result at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. We can only hope for the best for his next match and his fans will keep supporting him for sure.
