Kelly Clarkson’s divorce from Brandon Blackstock has been finalized. A judge in Los Angeles Superior Court approved a settlement between the singer and her ex. Clarkson has agreed to pay Blackstock $115,000 per month in spousal support until January 31, 2024, with the condition that if Blackstock remarries before that date or if either partner dies before that date, the payments will stop.
In addition, the talk show star will be required to pay her ex $45,601 in child support each month. The documents state that “Child support shall continue per statute until the Minor Children reach the age of eighteen, or if still attending high school full-time, until the Minor Children graduate from high school or reach the age of 19, die, marry, become self-supporting, emancipated, or further order of Court, whichever event shall occur first.”
Clarkson and Blackstock agreed to give their two children joint legal and physical custody. Clarkson, though, will have primary physical care of their children in Los Angeles, according to court filings. The “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer will maintain two properties in Montana, including the Warren Peak Ranch, as well as a property in Toluca Lake, California, according to the paperwork.
However, it looks that Blackstock will remain in Montana until June 1, 2022, as he agreed to pay Clarkson $2,000 per month for the Cattle Drive property and another $12,500 per month for the ranch until then. According to the contract, Blackstock has yet to decide where he would live once his residence at the couple’s Montana estates expires in June 2022.
Depending on where Blackstock will live after that, the custodial timeshare schedule may alter. After nearly 7 years of marriage, Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020. In August 2021, their marital status was terminated. People claimed that Clarkson and Blackstock married on October 20, 2013, after meeting at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.
The singer was on hand to perform a duet with Rascal Flatts called “What Hurts the Most.” At the time, Blackstock was the group’s tour manager. River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5, are their children.
Blackstock has two more children from a previous marriage. Kelly Clarkson, the singer, and talk show host has filed paperwork to change her legal name to Kelly Brianne. The star’s middle name is Brianne.
