Australia beat the men in green by five wickets in the second semi final, this resulted in the exit of Pakistan from the T20 World Cup and Australia’s Trans- Tasman final with New Zealand. But this defeat had triggered much criticism for Hasan Ali as he has become the subject of intense scrutiny.
In the interesting match between Australia and Pakistan, Matthew Wade smashed Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheed Afridi for 3 sixes in a row, in order to complete the run chase in some dramatic fashion, which was really a highlight of the game. But, just before Matthew Wade’s triple six hit, Hasan Ali unfortunately dropped a catch of Wade, and this resulted to be very costly for Babar Azam’s men.
Before Hasan Ali dropped the catch, Australia was in need of 20 runs in order to win in 10 balls in what looked set to be a last over thriller. But Wade’s amazing triple six hit after they survived due to the dropped catch of Hasan, which ensured that the match may finish with an over to spare.
As Pakistan’s fairytale run at the T20 World Cup came to an end, Hasan Ali has also been subjected to a lot of online criticism due to the defeat of Babar Azam and Co’s from Australia.
Well, even though he gained criticism from a lot of people online, it seems really surprising that the Indian cricket fans have taken to social media to support Hasan Ali. And when the news of Ali facing criticism went viral all around, Indian cricket fans started to trend #INDwithHasanAli on Twitter and also offered support through words to the Pakistani pacer. This has definitely won many hearts as the way Indians are supporting the Pakistani pacer is great.
A Twitter user tweeted a small letter to Hasan Ali, saying he has got many fans in support of him. The user tweeted, ” Dear Hasan Ali, not 200 million people of Pakistan but 135 crore people of India and are now with you and have become your fan. Jab aap continuously 3 balls par 3 sixes kha le aur pura blame Hasan Ali par aa jaye.”
While the other user wrote, “Cricket is a Game of Gentlemen…Representing the Nation is one of the most overwhelming feelings…It’s the duty of Pakistan People to support their Players regardless of their Religions…Your leaders already teach us to divide…Be Unite Be Mature…”
Yet another one tweeted, “The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable.
@RealHa55an is a star & indeed a good Cricketer.
Please respect your stars #Pakistan. This mindless abuse isn’t going to help anyone.”
And this way, Indian netizens showed their full support to Hasan Ali.
Indian fans wanted to spread the message that it’s just a game and no one can win a game continuously, someday or the other, they have to face defeat. And at that time, it is the duty of the country’ s people to fully support them. There were Indian fans who also criticised Virat Kohli when India lost the match. But it has to be said that there were some fans who accepted the fact that someday India had to face the loss, and supported Virat Kohli and co. Even MS Dhoni said the same in one of his conferences. But this trend has shown that Hasan Ali is also getting the same amount of love from the Indian cricket fans for his hardwork and Indian fans tried their best to show their support by making this a trend on Twitter.
