Indian women golfer Aditi Ashok surely came so close to one of the historic Olympics medals that would have really made headlines. Well, her performance in the Tokyo 2020 is really very much appreciated but the golfer couldn’t get the Olympic medal for the country this time. She is the women’s individual stroke play golf finished fourth and had 15 under and needed a birdie in the 72 and hole. This would have given her the bronze medal playoff with the golfer Lydia Ko but nothing went as per the plan. Ko on the other hand got a part on the 18th, which led to a silver medal play of herself with Japan’s player Inami Mone.
In the whole tournament, Aditi was in the second position and her fans had really high hopes for her for an unexpected podium to take place. The Indian golfer had to be disappointed when she couldn’t get the medal and finished outside the medal bracket after 72 holes of women’s individual event by just one shot. However, her performance is something that got so much appreciation from her fans from around the globe.
The 23-year-old golfer really did her best and we could see her in her performance. In fact, there was also some speculation that the entire tournament could be actually decided after 54 holes due to the inclement weather but it would be coming home now with a silver medal if the speculation became the truth. However, it did not happen but the 23-year-old Indian golfer did her best by playing with some of the world’s most cherished players and she did her best and that the state was under so much pressure by thousands of eyes only watching her. Aditi is currently the 200 women golfer in the entire world and she plays on the European tour as well as the LPGA tour in the United States.
She has also been a part of the 2016 Rio Olympics. She finished 41st in the Rio Olympics and currently, Aditya has 3 LET titles to her name and two on the Indian circuit which makes her one of the most famous players for sure. She also has one amateur and she is the first Indian to play and win on the LET. The Tokyo Olympic field was only limited to 60 players and Aditi with her skills made it as she was on the 45th on the list of eligible players for the game.
She would have surely made it to the medal if she didn’t miss the putt on the 17th hole. Aditya also had an outside chance of a birdie from 25 feet on the last hole and she did her best to do but it wasn’t meant to be and now she is returning without a medal. However, she has a long way to go to learn and solve the skills we can hope that she will get a medal for our country.
