India’s Rahul Jakhar finished 5th in mixed 25 metre pistol final at Paralympics

India’s shooter Rahul Jakhar finished at fifth position in the teeth remix the 25-meter pistol sh1 event at the Tokyo Paralympics on Thursday. 35-year-old Rahul Jakhar was first eliminated from the final at the end of the seventh series after he qualified in code 576 in which 284 are included in precision and 292 are included in the rapid stage and it can be said that this is by far his best International performance. Well, indeed the Indian player did his best throughout his performance in the prestigious games of Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

While on the other hand in the fray, Akash was not able to qualify for the finals as he ended 28 in the qualifications and scored 551 which included 278 points in precision and 273 in rapid.

Jakhar may have missed out on winning a medal but the Indian shooter has impressed everyone with his appearance at the Paralympic games. Many Indian fans who watched his performance were impressed by his skills. Huang Xing of China led the field very easily but Rahul Jakhar was still to make it to the top three just before the elimination began. 

India’s Rahul Jakhar shot 2,4,1 and 1 in the second stage of the elimination round of the final and thus he registered a total score of 12 which also follows the four points which he scored in the first essay. Although the Indian shooter was not able to move to the top 3 yet he bagged a fifth place in the Tokyo Paralympics final. Rahul Jakhar scored 576 points and just finished at the second position after the conclusion of both precision and rapid rounds. 

So eventually Jakhar was in 13th position at the end of the precision round in the qualification event and he finished this round with 284 points. While on the other hand, in the rapid round Jakhar scored 292 points to step into the finals. The next event had featured both female and male shooters with the Top 8 qualifying for the finals. 

On the other hand, Huang Xing of China won a gold medal with a Paralympic record score of 27 in the finals. In 2018 he shot a record score of 36 and as a result, it also holds the world record. Szymon Sowinski has won a silver medal with a record score of 21 and Oleksii Denysiuk grabbed the bronze medal and finished at 20 in the finals. India has till now won 2 medals in shooting. 

Rahul Jakhar is an Indian para pistol shooter and he is now ward number 8 in men’s 10-meter air pistol SH 1. Earlier he has also participated in the 2018 Asian para games P4 in mixed 50-meter free pistol SH1 events.
