New Zealand will not be a part of the U19 World Cup! Read the reason behind it!

As per the resources, the team of New Zealand has refused to be a part of the U19 World Cup and thus the team will not participate in any of the matches that will be held in the West Indies in the year 2022. The team of Kiwis decided to withdraw because of compulsory quarantine requirements that are in place for minors. So, fans will get to see Scotland playing in the place of New Zealand in the tournament. 

Reportedly, the team of Scotland will be a part of Group D. The group consists of many other teams including West Indies, Australia, and Sri Lanka. The most awaited tournament is already underway on 14th January 2022. Cricket lovers will see West Indies and Australia facing each other in the opening rubber and the tournament is scheduled to be played on 10 grounds across 4 different countries. The list includes Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Guyana, and Antigua.

Also, it is the very first tournament that will be played in the Caribbean and the very first time that the U19 World Cup will be played here. The Indian players are in Group B, along with Uganda, Ireland, and South Africa. The tournament’s two semifinal matches are scheduled to be played on February 1st and 2nd respectively. The Sir Vivian Richards College Ground will play host to the first semifinal, and Coolidge Cricket Ground will host the second one. The summit clash of the tournament is scheduled to take place at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground. Talking about the previously happened U19 World Cup, the team of Bangladesh won and the Bangladeshi Tigers were successful to beat the team India in the finals. 

India was batting first and bowled out for a total of 177 leading the Bangladesh side past the finish line. They won the match with 3 wickets and 23 balls to spare and cherished Bangladesh skipper Akbar Ali won the Player of the Match award. He played and stayed till the end by scoring a sedate 77-ball 43* to help his team win the match. The Men in blue has won the tournament on a whopping 4 occasions. Australia won the event thrice previously. Well, having beautiful records previously, every fan’s expectations have increased now and everyone will be looking forward to the U19 tournament eagerly.
