Night at the Museum : Kahmunrah Rises Again (2022) ! Cast, plot

Filmmaker Shawn Levy (Free Guy) brought audiences worldwide to the enchanting, hilarious, and unexpectedly instructive world of Night at the Museum on December 22nd, 2006. Following the adventures of Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a down-on-his-luck inventor and lone parent who accepts a job as a night guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. After learning that the museum’s exhibits are all animated by a mysterious ancient Egyptian tablet, Larry quickly makes friends with a variety of historical figures, including the intrepid President Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), the Native American guide Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), and the learned Pharoah Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek).

Unsurprisingly, a franchise was in the works given the film’s enormous box office performance and estimated $110,000,000 USD budget. We met new allies like ace pilot Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) and new enemies like Ahkmenrah’s evil brother, Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), who plotted to use the tablet to raise an army to conquer the mortal world, in the first sequel, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009), which took Larry and his friends to the titular educational campus in Washington, D.C.

With Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014), the trilogy ended, taking our protagonists to Britain, where they tied a cute little bow. Even though Secret of the Tomb seemed to be the end for the franchise, it appears that the Walt Disney Company plans to renew several other intellectual properties after purchasing 20th Century Studios. Later this year, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again (2022), an entirely new animated sequel, will allow viewers to return to the fantastical version of the Natural History Museum. This time, the film will follow Larry’s son as he assumes the role of night guard.

The cast of Night at the Museum : Kahmunrah Rises Again

Although cameo appearances are always possible, some fans of the original trilogy may be disappointed to learn that the main cast from the previous three films will return to voice their characters. However, the current cast list is undoubtedly nothing to laugh at.

Joshua Bassett and Joseph Kamal will compete to portray the voices of Nick and Kahumunrah, respectively. Zachary Levi will show the old brand face Larry Daley, and Gillian Jacobs (Invincible) will describe Nick’s mother, Erica. Nick’s parents will also appear. In terms of other recasting for the inhabitants of the Museum, we have Thomas Lennon (17 Again) as President Teddy Roosevelt, Steve Zahn (The White Lotus) as a toy cowboy named Jebediah, Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) as a toy Roman legionnaire named Octavius, Kieran Sequoia (iZombie) as a toy Sacagawea, Alexander Salamat (Elementary) as a toy Att The cast will also include Jamie Demetriou (Cruella) as a stingy museum curator.

Other members :

Akmal Saleh (from 100% Wolf), Alice Isaaz (from The Gilded Cage), Shelby Simmons (from Stargirl), Lidia Porto (from Get Shorty), Tenzing Norgay Trainor (from Abominable), Bowen Yang (from Isn’t It Romantic), Chris Parnell (from Rick and Morty), Christie Bahna (from Imaginary Friend), Zeeko Zaki (from Allegiant), Jonathan Roumie (from The Chosen), and (Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

Shawn Levy, the filmmaker of the original trilogy, will still play a significant producer role in the film even though he won’t be in the director’s seat this time. Levy has lauded the project, calling it “somehow its own thing, but very, very close to the tradition of those characters in that title” for maintaining accuracy to the original while giving something completely new. Michael Barnathan (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), Emily Morris (Stranger Things), and Mark Radcliffe also work as producers alongside Levy (The Christmas Chronicles).

The plot of Night at the Museum : Kahmunrah Rises Again

The official plot summary for Kamunrah Rises Again reveals that the tradition will continue with the most recent movie : The Night at the Museum series has a habit of summarising the movie’s main plot right in the title. Meanwhile, Kahmunrah triumphantly returns, and Nick Daley holds off on working as a museum night watchman.

As the title suggests, the villainous Kahmunrah, the beloved Battle of the Smithsonian enemy, will appear. Still, Joseph Kamal (The Flight Attendant) will voice him rather than Hank Azaria this time (The Birdcage). Now an adult, Nick may not want to take on his father’s role as a night guard and may instead want to pursue other interests. This is common from Larry’s circumstances when he initially began working at the museum. Even though this is mostly Nick’s story, Larry will still appear in the movie; Zachary Levi (Tangled) will be playing a part in place of Ben Stiller this time.

Trailer

The new movie still needs a trailer, but given that Night at the Museum : Kahmunrah Rises Again won’t be out for another month, that will probably change shortly.

However, a screenshot gave us our first glimpse of the movie. In the photo, Joshua Bassett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) is posing with Larry’s son Nick Daley, who was previously by Jake Cherry (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), who appeared in the first two movies, and by Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza), who appeared in the third. Now that he is an adult, Nick dresses in the Night Guard garb like his father. The artwork also features well-known figures like the skeleton of a dog-like Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Rexy and the Easter Island Head (Kelemete Misipeka), who enjoys chewing gum, are in 2D form for the first time in the franchise.
