Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is married to the famous American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas, is surely one of the favourite couples of the people and the fans cherish all the moments together. But earlier in November, Priyanka Chopra had removed her surname, “Chopra” and the thing which shocked their fans was that she, along with her surname, removed her husband’s last name, from social media handles, as the actress removed ‘Chopra’ and ‘Jonas’ from her Instagram and Twitter accounts and is now going by Priyanka.
Indeed this sudden change in her social media account name has made her followers left shocked at what was going on as neither her nor anybody from her team gave any clarification for this move. The fans got worried because of the sudden change, and many speculations were raised as to whether her marriage with Nick is on the rocks and the lovebirds are headed for a divorce, which went viral soon. Although as said earlier, this was neither confirmed by Priyanka or even by her team, these rumours didn’t take so much of time to spread quickly on all social media platforms and soon started hitting headlines.
However, according to the reports of News18, the news agency was the first to reach out to Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra who then refuted her daughter’s divorce rumours. And recently, Priyanka Chopra too opened up on dropping her surnames from social media. According to the reports which are provided by ETimes, Priyanka Chopra, regarding this sudden change said, “I don’t know. I wanted the username to match my Twitter, I guess. I just find it really amusing that everything becomes such a huge deal to people. It’s social media, guys. Just chill out!” So finally Priyanka Chopra ditched all the divorce rumors thus proving that the lovebirds are happily married.
Priyanka can be seen playing the role of Sati in The Matrix Resurrections, which has been recently released in cinema halls and Priyanka Chopra recently attended the Matrix 4 premiere along with Nick Jonas’ parents.
On Thanksgiving, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas shared identical posts. “So much to be grateful for. Friends, family… I love you Nick Jonas. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating,” wrote Priyanka.
Last month, as mentioned earlier, Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra addressed the rumours about Priyanka and Nick’s split and told News18, “It’s all rubbish, don’t spread rumours.”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas met at the grand fashion event Met Gala 2017, while representing designer Ralph Lauren. Surprisingly, the singer had shut down an entire Tiffany’s store in New York to pick out Priyanka Chopra’s ring and he had proposed to Priyanka on her birthday while vacationing in London. The couple got married at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in 2018.
Priyanka Chopra’s next project Citadel, which is a multi-series with productions from India, Italy and Mexico. The movie also stars Richard Madden and it will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Citadel is Priyanka Chopra’s second project with Amazon Prime Video, while the first one is the Sangeet Project, a sangeet-themed dance reality show. Priyanka will host the show with Nick Jonas. Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Netflix’s The White Tiger, which was based on Aravind Adiga’s Booker Prize winning novel.
Priyanka had been filming her upcoming series Citadel in London for over the last 12 months, and she said it’s been tough to be apart from her husband Nick Jonas for so long as she shifted base to the UK for the past year and more. Regarding this, Priyanka said, “This year has been really tough. It was really, really tough to be away from home for an entire year, especially at a time when you can’t travel to see your family. I was just alone.”
