Punjab CM Amarinder Singh’s sweet gesture for all the Olympians! Know what he did!

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh played many important roles like a political leader, Chief Minister, maharaja of an erstwhile royal estate, and author and a military historian. On Wednesday he did such a sweet gesture for all the Olympians. On that day he was not putting on the hat of the Chief Minister, he was putting on the hat of the chef! Yes, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh turned into a chef on Wednesday and he prepared many delicious foods and cooked the feast fit for Olympians. 

The Chief Minister had promised to cook for all the winners of medals in Tokyo Olympic 2020 while he was hosting the Tokyo Olympic medal winners from Punjab. So he kept his promise and on Wednesday he hosted them a grand feast at his farmhouse in Mohali (Mohinder Bagh), and too short to say that the farmhouse in Mohali was filled with the aroma of the delicacies he prepared himself for his guests.

CM’s media advisor Raveen Thukral said in a tweet that, “from Patiala to pulav, lamp chicken, aloo, and zarda rice, CM @capt_amarinder will prepare each of these delicacies himself to keep his promise to Punjab Olympic medal winners (and Neeraj Chopra) at the dinner is hosting for them tomorrow!”

Although State Congress chief Navjot Singh Sindhu was not an invitee, the cricketer- turned into a politician’s close aide and the general secretary of PPCC, Pargat Singh, was invited for the dinner. He was also a former hockey Olympian. 

Raveen thukral also said at the dinner that “it is a promise that he is keeping and he will be spending a lot of time on cooking. There will be recipes from erstwhile Patiala royal family’s traditional cookbook”

The Chief Minister said that he started at 11 in the morning and finished at 5:00 p.m. and there were also final touches remaining but he enjoyed every minute of cooking. The chief minister added that the sportsperson works so hard to win so what he has done is nothing in comparison with them. The chief ministers of his guest from the patilas and which he had prepared his amazing cuisines earlier. Indeed this gesture of a chief minister is very much respectable and too sweet!

While talking about why he decided to serve directly from patilas, he said that “the food always tastes better if served directly from the cooking vessel.” The menu included some mouth-watering dishes like mutton Khara pishori, long ellachi chicken, aloo korma, dugani biryani, and zarda rice.

Hockey captain Manpreet Singh (DSP, Punjab police) said that he was aware of the chief minister’s cooking skills, and while he tasted all the dishes he made, it exceeded his expectations. Neeraj Chopra javelin throw gold medalist of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 also thanked Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for hosting such an amazing dinner and also he expressed gratitude as the Chief Minister demonstrated respect for athletes. Neeraj Chopra said to the media in Chandigarh, “I am feeling happy that for the first time any Chief Minister is taking out time like this for sportspersons. This shows how much he loves sports and sportspersons. I thank him for giving us so much respect.” Well, the appreciation doesn’t end here, as many Olympians have appreciated the chief minister’s cooking skills and hospitality like the discus thrower Kamal preet Kaur has appreciated the hospitality and food of the chief minister. 

The guest list includes Neeraj Chopra Olympics bronze medalist hockey players Manpreet Singh (captain), harmanpreet Singh (vice-captain), Mandeep Singh, Hardik Singh, Rupinder pal Singh, Shamsher Singh, Dilpreet Singh, gurjant Singh, Varun Kumar, and Simranjeet Singh, who will receive 2.51 crore each. 

Women’s hockey semi-finalist Gurjit Kaur, and Reena khohar, and reserve hockey player Krishan Bahadur Pathak were also included. Each one will receive rupees 50 lakh. Angadveer Singh Bajwa and Gurpreet Singh were also invited.
