PV Sindhu loses against Tai Tzu-Ying in Tokyo Olympics 2020

Today Indian fans face a great heartbreak as India’s biggest hope of winning a gold medal in badminton will not come true. One of India’s great badminton players PV Sindhu crashed out of the gold medal race and was out by the Chinese Taipei opponent in straight sets. The Indian famous shuttler had a match against the opponent which was truly very entertaining. Tzu-Ying ended up taking the first match with the score 21 and 18. 

Yes, Sindhu lost the match by 21/18 and 21-12 as her Chinese opponent completely dominated her. Talking about Tzu-Ying, she is currently ranked first in BWF women’s singles world ranking. Well, the Indian player is seventh on the BWF world ranking leaderboard. The champion is stepping into the semis after having a very challenging game with world ranked number  five Japanese Akane Yamaguchi on Friday. The 26 year old Indian player who also holds a silver medal from the 2016 Rio Olympics brilliantly played with Yamaguchi with a score of 21-13 22-20.

Following the defeat to Tai Tzu Ying Sindhu will be now facing China’s He Bingjao in the bronze medal match which is all set on coming Sunday. This was also PV Sindhu’s 14th loss to Tzu-Ying in meetings. PV Sindhu was dominant in the first quarter of the match but because of Tai’s tactics and the skills, she won in straight games for 40 minutes. PV Sindhu tried her best and also came out to be dominant but in front of number 2 seed she was not able to give her best. 

At first, out of the 18 matches, Tai leads 13-5 against Sindhu. Talking about Thai she has never been on an Olympic podium before and unlike many of her counterparts the 27 year old does not have a world championship medal also.She will also be out on Sunday to have a match against China Chen Yufei for winning the gold medal. Both players have a match upcoming and the fans are really waiting for their match for sure. 

PV Sindhu still has the opportunity to win a medal for the country as she can fight for the bronze medal now. She will also be the second Indian athlete after wrestler Sushil Kumar to win two individual Olympic medals if he wins the match which is upcoming on Sunday. Sushil won a medal of bronze in the year 2008 and then he won a silver medal in 2012 and fans are eagerly waiting for Sindhu to win another medal too. The matches were surely tight and got many people interested in the prayers too.

Famous world champion PV Sindhu lost a match in Saturday ‘s semi finals of women’s singles after facing the famous Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, still has a long way to run.
