Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa finally tied the knot after 11 years of a beautiful relationship! Sharing the cute photos from their wedding, Rajkummar captioned it, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa Here’s to forever .. and beyond.”
Now, many people have started congratulating the newlywed couple, from which Priyanka Chopra was among the first ones to comment on the picture. “I’m not crying, you’re crying! Congratulations wohoooo,” she commented. Actor Sanya Malhotra also wrote, “Haayeeeeeee congratulations you two kitne sundar. (Congratulations, both of you look beautiful.)
On the other hand, Patralekhaa too shared pictures from the wedding. “I got married to everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my soulmate…My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife! Here’s to our forever,” she penned a sweet caption.
Priyanka Chopra didn’t miss the post and added a comment on Patralekhaa’s post as well. “Omgeeee you guys are stunning! Congratulations,” she wrote. Taapsee Pannu also wrote, “You both make ‘me at for each other’ feel actually real! Congratulations.” Aparshakti Khurana commented on the post, “Congratulationssss. This is so so so special. Sorry couldn’t make it. See you guys very very sooon.”
On Saturday, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa got engaged at The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, located in New Chandigarh. The duo has been in a relationship for many years now. They had appeared together in the 2014 Hansal Mehta film Citylights. They also featured in the web show Bose: Dead/Alive.
In one of the recent episodes of The Kapil Sharma Show, Rajkummar opened up that when he first met Patralekhaa, she thought that he is just like his role in Love Sex Aur Dhokha. He said, “Unko laga tha ki yeh aisa hi neech aadmi hai toh mujhse baat nahi kar rahi thi (She was not talking to me because she thought that I was a cheap man, just like my character).” But then, they clicked once they started talking.
Rajkummar had spoken about his mother’s reaction to meeting Patralekhaa for the first time in 2018. He said, “Patralekha is my best friend — we discuss cinema, we discuss acting or traveling. We’re not discussing marriage or babies because we like the way we are.” Further, he added, “When my mom first met Patralekha, she said that she’s going to be the last girl I’m meeting.”
In 2019, when filmmaker Karan Johar asked Rajkummar Rao about his plans on marriage with Patralekhaa, he said, “I still feel like a kid honestly. I am not ready to get married. We are in a very happy relationship and we are very happy about it. Our parents are not complaining so there is no pressure to get married. And we both are focusing on our respective careers. It’s not like we don’t believe in the institution but right now we don’t feel it’s the right time. It’s a mutual decision.”
Patralekhaa spoke about how she doesn’t want Rajkummar’s help for her career. “Five years down the line, Raj might be in that position (to help me in my career), but I don’t want to take it. It might be one film that will work or may not work, but it will be out there for people to judge. And I would never want to put him in such a position. Actually, a lot of people ask me, ‘Your boyfriend is so famous, why don’t you tell him (to get you some work)?’ I will never, in my life, want to ask him, ‘You know what, let’s do something together or get me some work.’ It’s going to just crush my self-respect.” she told Rajeev Masand.
