Sonic, a blue extraterrestrial hedgehog with superspeed, lives on Earth with his human companions in the forthcoming superhero comedy film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Following the success of the first film, Paramount Pictures confirmed a sequel in May 2020. The primary filming for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 began in March 2021, with the working title Emerald Hill, probably because the plot revolves around the discovery of a powerful, magical emerald.
