To extend gratitude towards Indian athletes and to appreciate their efforts and hard work at Tokyo Olympics 2020, Tata motors have taken the great initiative on August 13 and have planned to gift Tata Altroz, it’s premium hatchback, to the Indian athletes who missed out on winning a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020. It was said by the auto manufacturer of the company that the company wants to honor the athletes and also wants to inspire the upcoming sportspersons. And in addition to this, the company’s premium hatchback, the Tata Altroz hatchback, will be gifted to the athletes in its amazing gold color.
Sailesh Chandra, the president of Tata motors (passenger vehicle business), while speaking about the initiative, says that the Olympic athletes who have finished fourth have actually won millions of hearts with their dedication and hard work. He further said:
“For India, this Olympics was about a lot more than medals and podium finishes. We are fortunate to celebrate the effort and spirit of our athletes representing our country, competing under the highest pressure against the absolute best talent the world has to offer and coming extremely close to a podium finish. They might have missed a medal but they have won the hearts of millions of Indians with their dedication and are a true inspiration for budding athletes in India”.
They’ve also made a tweet regarding this.
Further Tata motor’s president also spoke regarding the idea of gifting the cars, he said, “Tata Altroz has set new benchmarks in its segment in safety, design, and performance”. As he spoke about the amazing functions of the car he said that the car was perfect for this initiative. He feels that this initiative helps to honor the spirit of the athletes and gifting this car is a token of appreciation. In this Tokyo Olympics 2020, many athletes have failed to win the bronze medal by just a few steps, like, Indian women’s hockey team missed to make history by winning a medal. In addition to this golf, Aditi Ashok also missed winning a bronze medal by single-shot difference. And also, wrestler Deepak Punia missed out a little bit to win a medal
This is not the first time that cars are gifted to athletes as a token of appreciation and for their hard work. Before this, recently, Mahendra also gifted Neeraj Chopra an SUV. A treat was made by a netizen asking Anand Mahindra to give Neeraj Chopra the new car model of the company as Neeraj Chopra made all the Indians proud. And shockingly Anand Mahindra replied to that treat and accepted to gift the athlete an SUV. He tweeted,
“Yes, indeed it will be my personal privilege and honor to give our golden athlete an XUV 700.”
And in addition to this, Anand Mahindra even mentioned Veejay Nakra, CEO of Automotive Division of M&M Ltd, and Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director of M&M Ltd, treated “keep one ready for him”
