The fourth instalment of the critically acclaimed action-thriller film series The Expendables, titled “The Expendables 4,” will be produced by Scott Wough, with a screenplay co-written by Spencer Cohen and Max Adams based on a Cohen original story.
The Expendables, which debuted in 2010, was followed by The Expendables 2, which came out in 2012, The Expendables 3, which came out in 2014, and The Expendables 4, which won’t come out until 2023, a huge 9 years after the release of the last one. The Expendables Go to Hell comic book series is a part of the franchise, which also consists of 4 movies.
Star Cast
Sylvester Stallone, who played Barney Ross, the head of the Expendables, in the movie, makes a triumphant comeback. The actor also declared that this will be his last movie as Barney Ross, with Jason Statham slated to take over the role after him.
Lee Christmas, the team’s knife expert, will be played by Statham once more. While Randy Couture plays the team’s demolition specialist, Toll Road, Dolph Lundgren plays Gunner Jensen.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, Sheila Shah, and Eddie Hall have also been cast in unnamed parts in addition to these celebrities. Iko Uwais has been cast as the film’s main antagonist, and Andy Gracia will play a CIA operative.
THE EXPENDABLES 4 RELEASE DATE
The movie will be distributed by the movie-making and distribution company Lionsgate Films, and it will have a 2022 theatrical release. The movie is scheduled for release on September 22, 2023, in the United States of America. Regarding the movie’s global release date, neither the team nor India has made any official announcements.
MOVIE PLOT
The movie, directed by Scott Waugh, has The Expendables getting sucked into a nuclear war between Russia and the US. The Expendables will take on an arms dealer in the upcoming movie who is supported by a sizable private army.
In September 2021, the shooting got underway. The stunt choreography was done by the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, and the movie was shot in London and Bulgaria.
Stallone shared on social media in October 2021 that the filming of his scene for the movie was complete. The crew made the announcement that the filming was finished the same year in December. Post-production work is now being done on it.
Under the auspices of Vertice Cine and Millennium Media, Statham, Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein, Kevin King-Templeton, and Avi Lerner are supporting the movie.
