The first train coach restaurant mounted on the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj terminus

A unique restaurant mounted on Mumbai railway station is currently taking the internet by storm and people just cannot get enough of these beautiful pictures. The Mumbai Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj terminus is one of the most highly visited railway stations for sure and now it has become more famous for one of its unique restaurants which you will surely love to know about. 

The unique ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ is what everyone is talking about and now the Central Railway has converted a railway coach into a restaurant. The Mumbai’s iconic Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will be now providing an experience of enjoying it’s one of its kind diners. The beautiful restaurant is named ‘Boggie Woggie’. This unique diner will be offering multi-cuisine food.

Their menu includes dishes like North Indian, South Indian, continental, as well as Chinese. In the entire history of the railway station, this restaurant is the first such restaurant that has ever been found in existence on rails. The restaurant on wheels is located at the Heritage Gully near Platform -18 on the Mumbai CSMT. , a discarded coach has been converted to a restaurant and is currently hitting the headlines for sure.

The Heritage Gully has rail artefacts including locomotives. Also it consists of an old printing press, cranes, and much more to witness. As per Shivaji Sutar, chief PRO, Central Railways, he said “The restaurant will be a fine dining experience for people. The coach was not usable, hence we decided to monetise it. This will help railways monetize railways to the tune of Rs 42 lakh per annum.” Sutar was also seen stating that the restaurant will have a seating capacity of 40 people. Also this restaurant is designed in such a way that it has 10 tables.

The restaurant will also have a take-away facility for people visiting it. As per the reports, the restaurant is stated to be open to passengers of CSMT as well as to the general public. Another plus point is that it has ample parking space. Sutar also said that the railways have also identified places at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Neral, Lonavala. The government plans to create such beautiful yet simple restaurants. He stated that the places mentioned above are perfect for the restaurants to be opened. The restaurant has surely got a lot of positive reactions and comments from all the social media users who came across the photos of the beautiful restaurant on wheels in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj terminus.
