Kangana Ranaut calls Nawaz Uddin Siddiqui one of the best actors in the world after he got nominated for an International Emmy Award. Nawazuddin Siddiqui this year got nominated in the Best Actor category for Serious Men and the actress shared a picture of him in her official social media account to congratulate the actor. Well, on her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Congratulations sir. You are most definitely one of the best actors in the world.” She completed her story by adding an Earth emoji along with her message.
Nawaz expressed his happiness as he was being nominated in his Instagram post as well. He wrote, “Wow !!!! #SeriousMen has got me a nomination for the prestigious #InternationalEmmyAwards in the Best Actor category Congratulations Team #SeriousMen Director #SudhirMishra @sejtherage @bhavesh_mandalia @manujosephsan & last but not the least @netflix_in @netflix @iemmys.” In an official statement released by him, the actor was seen saying “Working with Sudhir and playing the role of Ayyan Mani in Serious Men was a dream come true for me and the International Emmy nomination is validation of all the hard work we poured into the film. I feel honoured to portray meaningful stories that are being recognized globally – which is now a reality thanks to platforms like Netflix.”
Serious Men is directed by director Sudhir Mishra and the story revolves around an ambitious underachiever who capitalises on his son’s newfound fame as boy-genius. It is inspired from the novel by author Manu Joseph. The 2010 novel is of the same name.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been pitted against British actor David Tennant (Des) as well as actors Roy Nik of Israel (Normali) and Christian Tappan of Colombia (El Robo del Siglo or The Great Heist) in the Best Actor category.
The Sushmita Sen’s Disney Hotstar series named Aarya, directed by Ram Madhvani, is one of the final four of the best drama series category. Chile’s El Presidente, Israel’s Tehran, and UK show There She Goes season two are also nominated along with it.
Vir Das: For India has been nominated in the comedy segment and the French show named Call My Agent, UK’s Motherland: Christmas Special, and Colombian series Promesas de Campana is also in the category.
Talking about the winners for the 2021 International Emmy Awards, the results will be announced during an in-person ceremony. The ceremony will be held in New York City on November 22. In the previous year, Netflix’s critically-acclaimed series Delhi Crime got the title of the best drama series honour at the International Emmy Awards.
