Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Bhavinaben Patel enters women’s singles table tennis round of 16

With the beginning of the Tokyo Paralympics day 2, Indians got some good news and that is Bhavinaben Patel defeating Megan Shackleton of Great Britain. Well after nearly a year of delay because of the outbreak of the dangerous virus of covid-19 the Tokyo Paralympics is now conducted. Finally, the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics is here and the hopes of Indian fans are also going up hai especially after the record baking performance which we got to see in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. India gave its best-ever performance in the entire history of the Olympics and finished off with seven medals in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Many are also expecting many medals for the country from the talented contingent who left for the Tokyo Paralympics.

Bhavinaben Patel is the 12th Indian player who started on a dominant note in the first game. The match was thrilling and it ended with 3-1 in Group A in women’s single class 4. In the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics on Tuesday India’s para table tennis player Bhavinaben Patel played very well, showing her skills and defeating Megan Shackleton of Great Britain and saving the game point in the 4th game was brilliant. She took the lead in the match and with that, she won 3-1 and qualified for the round of 16 which will be coming soon.

Bhavinaben Patel started really well and she took the lead in the first game itself but as the game went further we could see that it was just like a roller coaster ride. Megan Shackleton got back to the track and started getting more points than the Indian player. However, the Indian paddler continued her fine form and she won the first game with a score of 11-7. The second game started with both players fighting hard for the points and the battle was intense between both of them. Megan got the better of  Bhavinaben Patel in the second half of the game and she won it with scores of 11-9.

Talking about the third game the battle was again very much thrilling and fans just couldn’t take their eyes off the match. Bhavinaben Patel bounced back and she was the lead in the third game she played quite well and scored higher than the Great Britians player Megan. Then in the fourth game, the points got tied at 11-11 between both the players.  However, the Indian player did not give up and she won the match 13-11.

On Wednesday Bhavinaben Patel lost to Chinese player Zhou Ying in the women’s singles class 4 of group A with 3-0 scores. Zhou Ying won over Bhavinaben Patel with the scores 3-0 (11-3, 11-9, 11-2). It just took her 18 minutes to win over the Indian player. Talking about the Indian paddler Sonal Patel, Sonal also suffered defeat. Sonal Patel was playing against the Chinese player Qian Li who won the match. Qian Li won by 3-2 in the opening match of group D in women’s singles class 3 which was also conducted on Wednesday in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. The Chinese player Qian Li is holding the world number 4th position and defeated Sonal by 3-2 (9-11, 11-3, 15-17, 11-7, 11-4). It took 36 minutes to end the match. Sonal Patel will now take on South Korean player Mi Gyu Lee. The match is all set to be now conducted on Thursday in her second group D match. Many eyes are waiting for the match and many are looking forward to it too.
