Former Pakistan President's General Pervez Musharraf Dies
A long illness claimed the life of former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf today (February 5).
The four-star general, who ruled Pakistan for nearly a decade following a bloodless coup in 1999
He passed away at the age of 79 at a hospital in Dubai due to complications from the rare disease amyloidosis.
Formerly a general in the Pakistani army, he was born in New Delhi in 1943.
Musharraf was the middle sibling of three and grew up in the Neharwali Haveli in the Daryaganj neighbourhood of Old Delhi.

Musharraf and his family relocated to the newly formed nation of Pakistan following the partition of India in 1947.
