IMD Forecasts More Rainfall Till December 15

Heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka

as a result of cyclonic storm "Mandous," prompting the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for these states.

According to IMD's forecast, the wind gusts could reach speeds of up to 85 kilometres per hour.

The landfall of Cyclone Mandous was finalised on December 10 after its aft sector moved ashore.

It is expected to weaken into a deep depression as it moves nearly west-northwestward.

The remnant of Cyclone Mandous, now named Deep Depression, has weakened over northern Tamil Nadu and is now just a Depression.

During the next 12 hours, it is expected to weaken gradually into a clearly defined low pressure area.
