Ronaldo Joins Al-Nassr: A Look At The Transfer Saga

Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi club Al-Nassr on a free transfer in the wee hours of December 31.

With all commercial agreements signed, Ronaldo's two-and-a-half year contract (until June 2025) is reportedly worth around €200m (£177m) a year

After weeks of rumours dating back to before the World Cup, this transfer finally materialised.

A shocking interview with Ronaldo conducted by Piers Morgan was published in November.

The article was critical of his former team, Manchester United, and its manager, Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo was immediately made a free agent after the interview, having been released from his contract with United.

Ronaldo's move to an Asian club is historic for the sport worldwide, despite being a significant downgrade for him personally.
