Strong Earthquake Tremors Felt in Delhi-NCR

On Tuesday, a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Nepal, causing widespread shaking in the Delhi region.

an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale struck Nepal at 2:28 p.m. today.

the epicentre of the earthquake was located in Nepal, about 148 kilometres east of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand.

The quakes lasted less than a minute, but during that time residents of Delhi-NCR posted videos to social media showing everything from ceiling fans 

So far, there have been no reports of earthquake-related damage.

A senior seismologist has pinpointed the epicentre of the earthquake to the 2,400 km Himalayan Collision Zone

which extends from the Hindukush mountain ranges to the territory of modern-day Myanmar.
