Why Is San Diego Known As America's Finest City?

Southern California's San Diego is often called "America's Finest City" due to its location on the Pacific Ocean. 

The city is well-known for its beautiful weather and extensive white-sand beaches

both of which draw many tourists.

San Diego is the second largest city in California and the eighth largest in the United States

with a city population of over 1.3 million and a county population of over 3 million.
