WhatsApp will stop working on these 43 mobiles from November! Is yours on this list?

WhatsApp currently has over 2 billion monthly active users which are of course way more ahead of Facebook’s messenger app. Indeed to say that WhatsApp regularly adds more features and keeps updating its app for both IOS and Android so that it can keep its billion users hooked on a permanent basis. WhatsApp indeed has many rivals like signal and telegram. These rivals are ready to take advantage of any moment but now WhatsApp is going to take such a step that will surely disappoint many users.

Whatsapp will now stop working on a large number of mobiles very soon. The company will now cut the number of mobiles it supports and will phase out the support for old smartphone models. So the users which are using mobiles of older versions, the company will prepare a purge of older devices. This deadline is very near as it will take effect in November 2021.

According to some sources, it is known that WhatsApp will now stop working on over 40 smartphone models later this year. So millions of smartphone users will be stopped from using the service. This resulted in new requirements of WhatsApp for running the app on IOS, Android, and KaiOS. This requirement has been updated now to match the new minimum requirements.

As this will start from November the users of WhatsApp will need to have an Android 4.1 (jelly bean) running smartphone or iPhone running iOS 10 or later and also, the phones running with KaiOS 2.5.1 and newer, which also includes the Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2. What to do if you have an old or outdated phone?

Regarding this, WhatsApp has suggested changing to a more recent device model so that they will not experience stoppage of using WhatsApp and avoid massive account closure. Otherwise, users will not be able to enjoy the features of the application. The user also can no longer connect to WhatsApp web, since it requests a QR code from the cell phone app which could not be viewed in some cases. Other options include the use of other messaging platforms such as telegram, signal, or messenger.

Recently Google has also officially announced that it will end its sign and support for the phones with older versions this month. So anyone who is using a device that is older than Android 2.3.7 will no longer be able to use the basic Google services which makes their phone functional.
