The third season of the fantasy drama The Witcher, starring Henry Cavil, is now in pre-production. Netflix renewed the series for a third season in September 2021, two months before the debut of the second season. The series is set on “the Continent,” a fictional medieval-inspired landmass. The Witcher tells the story of Geralt of Rivia and Princess Ciri, who is fated to be married.
The Witcher Season 3 production status
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich announced in December of last year that they are nearing the end of the scripting phase, indicating that filming on The Witcher Season 3 will begin soon. “Actually, this [December 3] is our last week in the writers’ room,” Hissrich told Techradar. “We’re almost finished with the scripting process, and it’s going to be fantastic. Because it’s based on my favorite novel in the series, The Time of Contempt, I’m particularly excited about how the season is turning up ” Producer Steve Gaub recently revealed the start of The Witcher season 3’s location survey. According to the images he shared, the third season’s new production center could be near to Longcross Studios. Filming for The Witcher Season 3 is expected to begin in March 2022. Season 3 of The Witcher is unquestionably going to be huge. Gaub offers more from Longcross Studios, where the set is being unpacked on the floors, but he assures that “the Witcher Season 3 won’t be going any smaller.”
When will The Witcher Season 3 be released?
The Witcher Season 3’s release date has yet to be revealed, however, based on the show’s previous release patterns, the third season could arrive around 2023. The Witcher Seasons 1 and 2 premiered on Netflix in December 2019 and December 2021, respectively. ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin,’ a prequel miniseries, will be released in 2022.
