Indian relay team breaks Asian record in Tokyo Olympics 2020 32 to qualify for final

The Indian 4 x 400-meter relay hit the headlines today by creating a new Asian record and creating a new history at the same time. The record with a 3:00:25 effort in the Olympics Tokyo 2020 but however the team failed to qualify for the final rounds on Friday. The quartet of Muhammad Anas Yahiya, Tom Noah Normal, Rajiv Arokia, and Amoj Jacob did their best by running for almost 3 minutes 6 seconds to finish the fourth in the second heat.

 Out of all the other teams who were competing to enter into the final rounds the Indian team was out at the end by reaching the ninth spot overall. The previous Asian record, actually set by Qatar, was 3:00:56. This previous Asian record was set by the team winning the gold medal in the year 2018 Asian games. The first three in each of the two heats and the next two fastest qualify for the final round of the relay in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The quartet of Mohammed Anas Yahiya, Tom Noah Normal, Rajiv Arokia, and Amoj Jacob narrowly missed out on a spot in the final.

 Amod Jacob ran an impressive anchor leg which helped the Indian team to pull ahead from the sixth to fourth at the finish line but they could not make it to the final round of the relay Olympics. The team had many high hopes for the final round and also they tried their best to reach the final round and get a medal for the country. However, it did not go according to the plan but they were able to set a new record which is now written with golden letters in the history of India especially with respect to the Olympics. However, the team was majorly disappointed and the Indian athletes couldn’t get the medal for the country. 

The fact that they broke the Asian record in the heat but still failed to make it to the finals of the event hit the headlines really quickly. The Indian team came at the position of 4th place and the heat behind the countries of Poland, Jamaica, and Belgium. The Indian team missed out on the eighth team final as they ended at the ninth position. Jacob and the last leg was the best among all the other Indian runners who participated in the relay and Jacob had 44.6 8 seconds as he overtook two rivals after the team.’

 The team was then placed at 6th when he took the baton from Rajiv and the national record holder Anas clocked the slowest time as he had to run the longest distance among all 4 members. Overall the team did try to perform their best and they did their best to enter the final but they couldn’t as the other things were more competitive for sure. Anyways, setting a new record is surely a big thing.
