To learn more about Confess, Fletch, read on: Plot and Cast

After years of development hell, an attempt at the third iteration of Fletch is finally prepared to reach the screens. Kids who grew up in the late 1980s know just how big of a deal the first Fletch movie was. However, many younger generations may find it challenging to comprehend. Fletch, starring the legendary Chevy Chase, gained a cult following after being ranked among the top 50 highest-grossing domestic movies in its initial year of release.

The first Fletch movie, based on Gregory McDonald‘s well-known Fletch books, was released in 1985. It starred Chevy Chase as investigative reporter Irwin “Fletch” Fletcher, who becomes involved with a shady businessman who wants him to frame him for death. In the 1989 sequel, Fletch Lives, the main character Fletch, a reporter, is once again trying to figure out who is trying to assassinate him in exchange for his 80-acre (32 ha) plantation inheritance. Jon Hamm will serve as the principal actor and producer of the upcoming Fletch movie, helmed by Superbad creator Greg Mottola. Here is all the information regarding the forthcoming film’s narrative, actors, filming, and other information that has so far been made public.

Confess, Fletch: The Movie Release date

The production company Miramax licenced Confess Fletch’s global distribution rights to Paramount Global Content Distribution. A constrained theatrical run for the movie will start on September 16, 2022. On September 16, 2022, the film will be available on high-end video-on-demand services. Later, Showtime will be the only place to see it. On October 28, 2022, Confess Fletch will debut on the premium cable network and its streaming service.

Fans may ask why Confess Fletch won’t receive a traditional theatrical release. This may be because Miramax is unsure of the movie’s commercial viability in 2022. The first Fletch movie, which at the time made nearly $60 million worldwide, was the most successful of the first two. With $50.6M in the US, it came in at No. 9 among the top 10 films of the year. The second movie, Fletch Lives, made $39.4 globally. In light of this, it does make sense to release the movie in theatres and on VOD for their intended audiences before making it only accessible via streaming for a more extensive viewership.
