‘Congratulations Ashwin’: Former India’s opener to its about Tweet making ‘Mankading’ Legal!

It is for sure that we cricket lovers love anything related to the cricket field. Especially when something comes up with the former cricket players who are famous and cherished, we absolutely make it so viral. Well one such tweet  by a former cricketer is going viral. Former India’s cricketer and opener Virender Sehwag tweeted something that has left all the cricket fans on social media amazed.

Many of the people did not expect it and now it is going very well just like a wildfire in a forest. On Tuesday that is just after the Marylebone Cricket Club, the guardians of cricket laws, changed the act of running. With a non-striker for backing up too far from unfair to run out status. Well, the former opened up to get to his official Twitter account to speak a little about it. He also went ahead to tag Ravichandran Ashwin and congratulated the off spinner.

Virender Sehwag on Mankading!

Running out of batters at the non-striker’s end always came off with a lot of controversies. Indian cricketer Ashwin got the same back in 2019 after disiner Singh Jos buttler. By speaking a little about it, Sehwag stated that Ashwin will now have “full freedom”. It is for clotting for run outs with the England’s cricketer. He wrote, “Congratulations @ashwinravi99, great week this one. First becoming second highest wicket taker in Tests for India, and now this. Ab full freedom (Now you have complete freedom) to plot such run-outs with Buttler. Ek karna zaroor (Be sure to do one),” in his Twitter account.

By giving a look at the lighter side of the new change, veteran England pacer Stuart Broad didn’t welcome it. He was a bit off with the MCC’s amendment in the law. “So the Mankad is no longer unfair & is now a legitimate dismissal. Hasn’t it always been a legitimate dismissal & whether it is unfair is subjective? I think it is unfair & wouldn’t consider it, as IMO, dismissing a batter is about skill & the Mankad requires zero skill,” he wrote on his official Twitter account. Well, to date, ‘Mankading’ was suggested to be one of the most unfair modes of dismissal.

Mankading moved under a new law:

However it is now moved to law 38. This will concern all run outs for sure. On Wednesday MCC stated, “Law 41.16 – running out the non-striker – has been moved from Law 41 (Unfair play) to Law 38 (Runout). The wording of the Law remains the same,” while speaking about the change to be followed from October 1. Well, it is for sure that this decision came up with a lot of critics and reviews from many cricket fans and different personalities. When you cricketers also commented on this decision made by The MCC so suddenly by changing in complete history.

To date there was something else followed by everyone with regards to the dismissal. However now this new rule will bring a lot of changes and especially for the run outs. Many of the cricket fans also start their reviews after seeing the post by MCC and the former Indian cricketer.
