T20I series: Official announcement of India’s new bowling and fielding coaches!

Well, cricket lovers especially Indian fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming team India’s match with New Zealand. The match is scheduled to happen in the upcoming home T20I series. The Men in Blue will be playing the matches that are set to begin from November 17. The team of India will now be led by a new captain Rohit Sharma as he has been replaced with Virat Kohli. Kohli has previously stepped down from the post as Captain of the team in the T20 World Cup. As per the reports, there is also an overhaul in the backroom staff and now Rahul Dravid will be the new India’s head coach.

As the BCCI has zeroed in a fresh set of personnel on his support staff which was previously announced officially by them. Batting coach Vikram Rathour reportedly once again had applied for the post and looks set to retain his position. Well, Cricbuzz opened up about it stating that the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik interviewed the applied candidates for all three posts. The posts include batting, bowling, and fielding coaches which happened on Thursday. Now it is officially known that Paras Mhambrey will be replacing Bharat Arun. He has previously worked with Rahul Dravid during the latter’s tenure as NCA head coach and Sridhar will be replaced by T Dilip taking the post of fielding coach. Well, head coach Rahul Dravid was instrumental in appointing the support staff and the trio had traveled to Sri Lanka earlier. Ravi Shastri and Co. couldn’t accompany the main India squad in England to play a five-match Test series. The match was set against the home team.

Talking about T Dilip’s appointment as fielding coach, many fans were surprised but as he has completed a Level 3 coaching course, it is understandable now.  Also, Dilip has prior experience with the Hyderabad team and India A side. The South Africa tour could be the first real test and the players and the coaching staff are told to report in Jaipur. They might be present in Jaipur on November 13 for the T20I series.

The match is set against New Zealand and both teams will have a few sets of Tests scheduled. Team India is set to rest key players for this series and Kiwis will pose a tough challenge for the team. The real test is the South Africa tour then India will play three Tests. The three ODIs and four T20 Internationals against the Proteas and will have to leave for the rainbow nation. It is soon after the New Zealand series and will come to an end on December 7.
