The release date, official title, and trailer for a new Dungeons & Dragons film have all been announced after years of delays. Finally, some of the information that fans have been waiting for regarding Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has been made official.
There has been a tonne of information, entertainment, and interactive activities related to the movie that was screened at San Diego Comic-Con and CCXP, making this year fantastic for lovers of the traditional tabletop role-playing game and aficionados of fantasy in general.
What does Dungeons and Dragons : Honor Among Thieves involve ?
Dungeons & Dragons : Honor With a title like “Among Thieves,” it should come as no surprise that the story revolves around a group of thieves who “helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing” and now have to right their wrongs and redeem the world. They may be thieves, but that doesn’t mean they’ll allow the greatest evil to rule the globe.
The company is led by bard Elgin, a barbarian named Holga, a paladin named Xenk, a sorcerer named Simon, and a tiefling druid named Doric. Star Elgin’s actor Chris Pine compared the movie to “Game of Thrones combined with a little Princess Bride [and] just a touch of Holy Grail,” adding that it is “poppy, it’s very heartfelt, [and] there’s a bit of Goonies in there.”
Fans of the D&D tabletop game need not worry because director and writer John Daley promised that the film will feature “a tonne of Easter eggs put in there.”
Star Cast of Dungeons and Dragons : Honor Among Thieves
Dungeons & Dragons : Honor Chris Pine plays Elgin, a bard, in one of the key parts in the film Among Thieves, which also stars some of the biggest names in Hollywood. The character is “the ultimate party planner,” according to Pine in an interview with Collider. The current Star Trek movies made Pine famous for his role as Captain James Kirk. Moreover, he performed Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman.
A second leading lady is Michelle Rodriguez, who plays the role of Holga, a barbarian. On Lost, Rodriguez played Ana, and of course, she played Letty in the Fast and Furious movie.
The brilliantly cast Hugh Grant plays Forge Fletcher, an aristocratic but aggressive scoundrel. From Bridget Jones’s Diary through Paddington 2, Grant has portrayed roguishly alluring males. He recently appeared in The Undoing, playing a more menacing yet endearing role. In Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, we eagerly await his performance as Forge Fletcher. Given that it was one of the few scripts he had recently been handed that made him chuckle and had Monty Python-esque elements, Grant stated that he was excited by the script.
Simon is a sorcerer, and Justice Smith, whom you may know from Detective Pikachu or Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, will play him. Smith has also performed in movies including Paper Towns and The Get Down as Radar and Zeke, respectively.
Xenk, a paladin, will be played by Regé-Jean Page and Bridgerton native Simon Basset. We eagerly anticipate learning what caused a paladin to turn a thief. Additionally, Page appeared in the 2022 movie The Gray Man.
Sophia Lillis performs the role of Doric, a tiefling druid. Lillis has starred in movies including Sharp Objects, It Chapter 2, and Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase from 2019.
Dralas is portrayed by Jason Wong, who is well-known for his work on Strangers and Jarhead 2. A role for Chloe Coleman from Little Big Lies is also played by Daisy Head from the Netflix series Shadow and Bone and the horror movie Wrong Turn.
Dungeons & Dragons : Honor Among Thieves looks to be a beautiful movie when it slows down enough for viewers to take in the scenery. The movie was primarily shot in Northern Ireland, though some Icelandic locations were also used.
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who also created the screenplay with Michael Gilio, are in charge of directing Dungeons & Dragons : Honor Among Thieves. In addition to directing the dark comedy Game Night, Goldstein and Daley developed the script for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Production on the movie is handled by Sweetpea Entertainment Productions and Entertainment One.
