New stills for The Glory, including those of Song Hye-Kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Jung Sung-ill, and Park Sung-hoon, were published by Netflix on January 18th.
The protagonist of the suspenseful revenge drama’s first season, which debuted on December 30, was Moon Dong-eun, who was victimized by a group of bullies at her school led by Park Yeon-jin.
The former withdrew from school as a result of the vicious abuse, and she began planning how to get her bullies to stop. She accepted a position teaching kindergarten and intended to woo Park Yeon-spouse.
The question of whether she would want to get beat up or beat someone first occurred to screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, according to her admission.
The renowned screenwriter, who is best known for creating masterpieces like Descendants of the Sun and Mr. Sunshine, among others, started by researching and interviewing victims of harsh school bullying in South Korean schools.
Several scenes from the program, according to Kim Eun-sook, were based on actual occurrences. In a horrifying real-life incident, the culprit used a hot curling iron to burn the victim’s arms, pins to scrape their chest, and forced them to take their money. When the event was discovered, the school administration disciplined the bully.
The synopsis of glory reads as “In high school, Moon Dong-eun had a desire of becoming an architect. However, Moon Dong-eun is forced to leave school after enduring a vicious attack from her bullies. Years later, Moon Dong-eun, who is now the homeroom teacher at the primary school that the bully now attends, married, and had a kid. Moon Don-eun launches her plan of retaliation against her old bullies and the pupils who stood by and allowed it to happen after years of planning”
