Here is what you should know about “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special”

Marvel has been experimenting with how they’ve been creating this grandiose world as the fourth chapter of the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes to a close. The Disney+ series, which include Wandavision (2021), Loki (2021), Moon Knight (2022), and many others, are the best example of that. They are all essential to the growth of the MCU. Werewolf by Night (2022), an hour-long Halloween special that received a lot of high praise for its innovative execution, was just one of Disney and Marvel’s many ambitious MCU experiments from only this past October. The eagerly awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) was widely expected to be the culmination of Marvel’s ambitious and experimental period, but the studio has one more surprise in store for fans before the year is over. Following Werewolf by Night, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022) is the second Marvel Studios Special Presentation, indicating that these hour-long specials may become a yearly tradition for the MCU. Additionally, the new special goes beyond just a throwaway independent film that is simple to skip. The holiday special will serve as a direct prequel to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 film, according to returning writer and director James Gunn (The Suicide Squad). In addition to reuniting the cast and crew from both of the previous Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Gunn also confirmed that the special will be an essential part of the Guardians’ story (2023).

Where will be the release place for the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special?

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, like Werewolf by Night, will only be available on Disney+; there are currently no plans for a cable or home video distribution. As the streaming home of their previous adventures in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2019), Disney+ is undoubtedly the place for any Marvel fan, and especially Guardians of the Galaxy fans, to get their fix (2022).

Is the MCU Required Viewing for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special?

It certainly is, as James Gunn reaffirmed this by adding that the movie will feature a lot of “huge information.” It’s Gunn and Marvel’s method of filling the time between the last time we saw the Guardians in Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which Gunn has also vowed will serve as the Guardians’ story’s climax and say goodbye to the galaxy’s super squad as we know it.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Is Starring Who?

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

With the exception of Zoe Saldaa (Avatar) as the Gamora from the alternate universe, most of the prominent members of the Guardians team are returning. However, we wouldn’t rule out a cameo or an end credits tease. We can confirm that Chris Pratt from Jurassic World, Dave Bautista from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Pom Klementieff from Oldboy, Karen Gillan from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Rocket Raccoon from Bradley Cooper from A Star is Born, Groot from Vin Diesel from F9, and Kraglin from The Suicide Squad are among the actors who will return. As was already announced, Kevin Bacon will make his MCU debut as himself, and Maria Bakalova will make her acting debut as Cosmo the Space Dog. Michael Rooker (The Belko Experiment) as Yondu has also just recently been confirmed to return, which comes as a bit of a surprise. This presence is likely for a flashback scene because James Gunn has previously stated that he is fiercely opposed to Yondu being revived after his sacrifice in Vol. 2, but it makes sense that Rooker would be returning because he has been in every James Gunn project except from Peacemaker (2022). The members of the alternative country band the “Old 97’s” are confirmed to appear, rounding out the rest of the cast along with David Moskowitz (Revenge of the Nerds), who is credited as Santa Claus himself, Stephen Blackehart (Brightburn) in an undisclosed cameo role as another frequent Gunn collaborator, and finally.

When will The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special be released?

On Black Friday, November 25, 2022, the Guardians of the Galaxy’s quest to rescue Christmas officially gets under way.
